Hi Julia! I absolutely love all of your books! I just have a question about Dragonfly. Where did the inspiration for the dragonfly come from? Why that animal? The reason I ask is because my family loves dragonflies, so it was just funny that a book I was reading was all about that. Thank you! Linnea

Hi I was inspired by the poem I quote at the front - they are magical creatures.

I am 11 but last time I read dragonfly I didn't get into it it was a year ago should I try it again?

You could try but maybe this kind of fantasy isn't your thing? I write lots of different sorts of books so don't expect everyone to like everything. I would have thought Dragonfly appeals to those who like adventure with a touch of romance.

Julia Golding is one of my favorite authors ever! One small question, will the Glass Swallow be released in the United States. A disadvantage of mine is that all the books I look forward to reading are released in the UK first!

Good news: out in the States now.

My 2 favorite books ever. I have read both books so many times i can't remember! Are there going to be any other books like this in the future (based in the same areas)? I love all your books

Probably - I often return to things when a new idea strikes.

Hi, these two books are my favourite ones you have written. Is it possible to write more with either set of characters? x

Perhaps - I can imagine returning to this world.

Hi! I loveddddddddd Dragonfly that was my favorite book out of all my life! Ive read it 10 time now!! Haha I know this is wierd but i was always wondering what the characters looked like

I do describe them but the rest is up to you to fill in - that's the way books work unlike films.

Glass Swallow was amazing, I can't decide whether I like Dragonfly or Glass Swallow better :) Where do you get the names for people in the books and their countries? Also, I enjoyed the map at the beginning of Glass Swallow, it helped me imagine my way around better :) I'm hoping to read more of your books soon.

Glad you like the map because I drew it (and the one in Dragonfly). I make the names up as part of feeling my way into a culture I am imagining. Julia

Hi! I LOVE Dragonfly...but will there be another book after it about what happens to Tashi and Ramil and all the other characters because it left me hanging and wanting more!!! june

Hi There's The Glass Swallow with some updates on what is going on.

Mendeleev wrote on 04 November 2011:

If you do write a sequel to these stories...can Tashi and Ramil be the main characters again in the third book and if you write a fourth book Rain and Peri? I couldnt live without another book in this series! Lol thanks Mendeleev <3

Hi Lovely ideas, thanks for sending them. Not sure what I'd do yet if I returned to this world. The plots have their own logic once I get thinking. Julia

why do you write under two names? I saw that you also write as author Eva Edwards or something? Which name is your real name if either? Why write under two different names? Don't you want people to know that you wrote it? I was VERY curious about this because Agatha Christi also did something similiar and I wonder what makes authors do it?

Different books for different readers under different names - its as simple as that!
