Empty Quarter

Empty Quarter

Nominated for the Carnegie Award 2009

Darcie's stuck aboard a cruise ship for problem rich kids. It sounds exotic but it’s more like boot camp. Things are about to get interesting though... Darcie becomes embroiled in a kidnapping plot that will take her from Naples, via Cyprus, to Egypt and on a terrifying journey through the desert empty quarter.

An adventure-thriller starring Darcie Lock.

Thank you so much for making the first Darcie Lock an e-book and at such a great price ;) I've been wanting to read it. When will the second book be release as an e-book? Sorry, I'm sure someone's already asked you that but I couldn't find the answer. I just can't wait to read it!

Just done it - in time for Christmas! You'll find it in my shop and that takes you to Amazon UK or US.

I read ringmaster while on holiday in Kenya and loved it, I could really relate to everything in the book and I finished the whole book in 2 days and then re-read it again and again. Then as soon as we got back from the airport I went straight to the libary to return ringmaster and was thrilled to learn that there was another book after that. I haven't deadlock yet, but am looking forward to seeing what happens to Darcie Lock in this one!

Good choice of holiday reading!

Hi! I've just seen the link for Deadlock on the home page, however i've also seen it on amazon (with a differant cover) saying it comes out next year. I'm a bit confused by this! :( Can't wait to read it! :) Thanks :)

Ignore the Amazon one - it should have been taken down. Go with what's one my page. Julia

Yes, that's the plan. I'm even thinking of doing Ringmaster FOR FREE over Christmas as a little present to you all!

I'm wondering, since it is inconvenient for me to buy the book online, whether Deadlock is ever likely to be published as a conventional book?

Yes, follow the link on the home page for the paperback version.

Hi, just wanted to say these are amazing books. I absolutely love the cat royal series too. Can't wait for the third book to come out. I've ordered every single one of your books from the library and can't wait to read them. I so hope Darcie will see Kassim again.

Deadlock is coming out as an ebook soon. If you send me your email, I can send you an alert when it is posted on Amazon. Julia

What happens to Darcie's grandmother? and how old is Archie? love the books.

Good question - I'll have to think about that one. Archie is same age 14 or 15. J

I am reading your first Darcie book to my 8 year (with some editing!) and we are absolutely loving it. At the moment Darcie has just escaped from the lion and made herself a zipline to get over the razor-wire. It is so exciting - wonderful writing. Keep it coming!
