Companions fans - your space!
I have been thinking for some time of displaying some of the lovely images and examples of your own work that you send me. I'll put up a selection on this page for fan fiction etc. so if you'd like to submit some, you can use the comment box below. Please keep your entry SHORT eg. a poem, a description, a spin-off storyline, maximum 300 words. I will not have room for essays!!
If you want to send pictures, put a copy in the post to Oxford University Press and they will forward them on to me. I won't be able to return them, but a photocopy will scan just fine.

I love your books especially the companions quartet. its not like other books ive read before because all the other books make the enermy sound really bad but in this series i find that kullervo does have a point because humans have done alot to destroy earth. while connie is also right because human should live on earth. I love your books im a huge fan!!! My favourites of the companions quartet are the mines of minotaur and the chimera's curse. I hope that you can write more of the companions quartet. have you ever thought about making the books into a movie before i think it could make a great movie!
Hi Elainie You've put your finger right on the point of the books for me - well done!

hi julia i looked up "the companions quartet" on youtube, expecting to find a trailer for the books but instead i found a really nice piano piece called "connie's theme" and it does remind me of her character a bit! i would advise any fans to check it out and listen to it for themselves. it's quite a beautiful piece! :) by the way i love your books and can't wait for "water thief"!!!!!
Great - I hadn't known that existed.

Hi everyone! It's been a long, long time since I last posted. I was pretty busy so you'll have to forgive me. Since the books are so good, I recommended them to my friends. I'm pretty sure they liked the books. I've improved vastly on my writing skills and thanks to a good English teacher, I have ideas popping into my mind at every moment! The Companions Quartet has inspired me to write a story about a girl that has bonded with a tiger. I'm sure in some unconsious part of my mind I was thinking of this series. Like I said, I'm pretty busy nowadays so I have different projects around. I still love writing and reading stories. Oh! Some of you may remember me as Universalsrock^_*. Since then I've changed my name. I continue to love my companion, Skyflight, but we have found out that Skyflight suffers from an aging disorder. She grows and matures much quicker than normal, so her life span has decreased rapidly. I'm afraid...I'm afraid Skyflight will be passing soon. I hope she goes to dragon paradise. Thanks for reading this post and for writing great books Ms. Golding. I probably won't be visiting very often so this is the temporary goodbye. I tend to write too much. >.> But anyway, bye! For now!

Hi Julia! i was just wondering, there is this question i have been asking my self...how is Connie? i mean,in your book (at least the frist two) says Connie has a green eye and a brown eye,and how is her ahir? is she tall? is she samll? and also how is Col,how is his hair? waivy? straight? how are they physically? well hope you answer me :) Kisses & Hugs!
She is described several times - particularly at the start of each book. Wavy/shaggy mop of dark hair, slight, a little pale. I suppose you might call her elfin in looks! J

hello!!! I've read The Companions Quartet many times, and love them so much! once i finished the books for the first time, i felt a mental hole in my heart. i was so sad until i heard you were writing more. i hope you can get them to come out soon. in fact, i'm reading the chimera's curse again for like the 3rd time. i need more books to read, so i think i'm going to find your other ones. thank you so much for the books!! The Companions Quartet is my #2 all time favorit series, Harry Potter's #1, but your not too far behind! :) Good luck with everything you do! You have also inspired me to be an author. I hope you never run out of ideas for books. love, maddie
Thanks, Maddie. J

I'm very excited to hear that you have written more companions quartet related books. Is the trouble with the publishers to do with the amount of people that will bu it???If it is then perhaps some of the readers on your website could sign some sort of petition saying that we would definitely buy and read it? Please reply!!!xx
Hi Holly It is really to do with the number of books I have in the pipeline (Dark Spies next year) I don't want to overcrowd my own shelf and stop the impact of new books coming out (plus the publisher doesn't like to do so much with just one author). That's why I'm thinking of other routes to getting it out to readers. Julia
