Hi i loved this book it really is an awesome adventure for many people i really would like to know were you got inspired to write this book and were did all this characters come from did you base them off real life or pure imagination? I would really like to maybe if this cat royal is real what she is like cause write know i am living in Sarajevo Bosnia Herzegovina a country right next to Croatia. So yay.

Hi Jordan Cat Royal isn't a historic person but she fits in a real historical place and is surrounded by real characters like Mr Sheridan. You can find out more about the inspiration on my FAQ page.

hi julia! i've just finished writing my 220 paged book. Wow i didn't think that i'd ever finish writing it! Anyway... any advice on how i could try to get it published???

Congratulations! If it is for younger readers the best place to start is the reference book The Children's Writer and Artist's Yearbook (should be in your local library). It tells you everything you need to know.

Hi Dr. Golding! I still can't believe it's been almost two or three months since I posted on here. I thought you would like to know I finally wrote a novel! It's 35K, which is pretty short by most standards, but hey, it's MY 35K :) I was wondering, do you have any advice for a young writer who's completed his/her first novel?

First, well done! I'd suggest you get it read by friends and listen to their feedback. the first draft always needs improving - just how it goes!
